Okay, so. I told you guys that the boyfriend and I still haven’t decorated our apartment yet, right? Between trying not to spend too much money and being busy with school and such, we literally haven’t had the time or been fully interested in going shopping for things to decorate the place with. Also, we have a bit of a disadvantage because we don’t fully know what we want. Maybe we will someday, but for now I guess I’m just happy we have the place together.
Anyway, the shelving, storage, and beautiful typographic wall decor piece is what made me think about that. I think each person has their own elements in their home that really make it theirs, and each of these are truly representative of that element. However, I’m also digging this simplistic look in the bottom right image. Not only are the ceilings high, walls wooden, and beautifully lit, but it’s so uncluttered – something I know I can take for granted. Here’s to loving these personal elements and hoping that they one day spark a motivation to find my own!

Noor is right, if you find cheap but sturdy pieces at flea markets, some paint and possibly upholstery fabric + a little work will get you a really beautiful piece! I don’t know how you’ve not decorated yet–I’ve already completely decorated my apartment in my mind–unfortunately my boyfriend vetoed the hot pink Anthropologie couch I love…
That’s such a great idea, Kate. I don’t know how we haven’t decorated either, but I think once we do, we’ll absolutely love it even more. HAHA! Hot pink? Tell him it’ll help find his feminine side!
I can totally relate to that! It took me and my boyfriend ages (not literally, but at least 2 months) to finally decorate at least a bit of our apartment. It’s really tough to sit down and take the time and find something, both people enjoy. I really like the simple look of the pictures you posted, that’s a nice idea and it fits in almost any apartment.

Exactly! We have a few things, but not much. We want to do some DIY stuff, but never have the motivation or don’t know how to make it so we both like it. If we ever do get around to it, I’ll definitely share for you guys! :)
